A small leather bound book lies safely in its owners hidden pocket, nestled safely between two stakes soaked with a strange watery substance. it’s worn slightly from age, its pale yellow cover slowly turning brown and it’s pages fading from age.

Dear Diary! I like writing that word! It’s so much fun to write! ^-^ Daddy told me that I could use this to practice my writing in since I like to imagine stuff so much. Me and Drake are going to the carnival on his birthday, which is in 10 days! I’m so excited Diary! Daddy says I need to turn my lights off, and I can’t see in the dark. So sad. ): But I’ll write in you soon Diary! Promise!

We’re going to the carnival tomorrow! Daddy says there’s gonna be a big bounce house that we can climb in and everything! It’s going to be so much fun! Drake says he’s excited, but I know he’s gonna be scared once we get to the top of the bounce house. He doesn’t like heights, but I’m gonna make him go to the top! That way he won’t be so scared anymore! Well, I gotta go help clean the house, ever since Mommy left I have to do the dishes. I hope Mommy comes back…

Drake and Daddy are dead…

Dear Diary.
My brother is dead…..my father is dead….and it’s all due to that VAMPIRE….yeah, you read that right, vampire. It was in the bounce house that he got us. I turned my back on Drake for a second and he disappeared. I ran through every inch of that place looking for my brother until I found this little opening in the bounce house that opened into an area to the back of the bounce house on the bottom floor. Naturally I wiggled through just…in….time…to see my brother’s neck bitten by this strange man. I screamed, and the VAMPIRE turned, looking me dead in the eye. I felt this pressure on my brain to come closer to the man, that everything was alright, I almost fell under its spell until I looked down to see my brother crumpled up on the ground. That snapped my mind back into place and I screamed, I screamed so loud that my father came running and was there before any help could get together. The man turned around on my father and lifted his hand, and suddenly my father crumpled to the ground, his brain leaking through his ears. I screamed and turned, tearing through the carnival as the vampire followed me, the mental attack pulling me and slowing me down, but another voice in my brain was telling me to RUN! RUN IF I WANT TO LIVE! So I kept running until a man grabbed me by the arm. I spun around, expecting it to be the vampire but instead it was a nice man with an army uniform. He turned to the vampire and approached, holding up his phone as he dialed 911. The vampire nodded and turned, walking off as the crowd surrounded me and the army man. This was two weeks ago. I’m currently in a foster home, under the care of a nice lady, but it’s painful….painful to see happy smiling faces of other kids playing when I’m so ripped up inside….no one believes me about the vampire, saying I was only imagining…..I wish I was….

Hmmm….it’s been a few years since I’ve wrote in you Diary…I didn’t write much in you, did I? Well, I’m writing now and I’ve got some news for you. I’ve become a vampire hunter. Granted, I’m not really good at it quite yet, but this guy named Thomas is teaching me how to. I’ve quickly learned how to hold a stake and where to stab vampires with it. He’s also teaching me how to use Holy Water against them as well. I’ve learned so much from him, it’s scary, like how if you soak the stakes in the Holy Water, the vampires die faster, and that if you take a vampire’s left sock and fill it with rocks, throwing it into a river, they’ll die……….granted that one is a bit strange, but you know what, we tested it, and it works! Surprised me the heck out of me though I don’t think I’ll be doing that one often as I usually fight on my own and it’s kinda hard to take their socks off anyways.

Me and Thomas have grown close, very close. It seems my heart flutters every time he’s around and he’s been reluctant to leave me alone more and more. I’ve never really liked someone before so I don’t know how I’m supposed to go about this. Clara, another girl in our vampire hunting circle, has been suggesting things to me on how to make a move, I think I’ll go with her advice. She’s been the only girl really that’s been my friend as she’s the only one that will put up with my endless internal monologues before I speak and I’m the only one who will put up with her endless chatter, so it’s a win win friendship. She says I should just come out with it and say how I feel, so I’m going to do that tonight after the vampire hunt when we're so ecstatic about our kills. I have to go, it’s about time to get ready!

Let’s get this out there, if you can’t already tell diary, that I….HATE….VAMPIRES!!! Okay, so that nights hunt was going fairly well, we managed to kill an old vampire that was preying on the local children when I got this feeling in the pit of my stomach to go to the docks. Thomas and Clara came with me as we explored, since my gut feelings are mostly right, and we were suddenly ambushed by this coven of vampires! All of us fought our hardest and we managed to kill them all but we were all exhausted from the battle. We all steadied each other as we stumbled back to headquarters when my gut feeling came back. We all took off running and Thomas and Clara were ahead of me, stakes at the ready….but I fell behind. I called out to Thomas to wait and he stopped, turning around when suddenly my view of him was blocked by a vampire, I don’t remember what it looked like, all I remember was the chilling feeling of sleep overcoming me as I fainted, hearing Thomas and Clara calling out for me. Next thing I knew was that I woke up in some Vampire Mansion, surrounded by vampires and their so called “pets” I have yet to find the vampire person who killed me, but if I get a whiff of who did, I’m killing them….I don’t care who it is or who watches, I’m killing it one way or another. The vampire took all of my stakes, but it didn’t take my knife or my two bottles filled with Holy Water. I managed to break down a wooden table and whittle it’s shards down into a multitude of stakes; all of them are hidden under my bed except for two, both in my hidden pockets. I’ve been going around, asking whoever will talk to me about the mansion and vampires, gathering valuable pieces of information as I go along. I haven’t met many people and not many vampires either. Ana seems nice, but too enamored with the vampires to be of any use to my crusade to kill them. Aladdin seems to be as well. Hiccup might help…..maybe….but he seems to be too loyal to Ana and Cindy…….Cindy will follow every order Sinbad gives. I need to meet more of the humans and hopefully find a few that will help aid me in escaping and possibly killing all the vampires.
Yes, I’ve met some of the vampires as well, but Clara’s words still ring clear in my mind “There are no nice vampires, only good disguises”
I will keep these words in mind; I will not let these vampires sway me. I’ve already gained a bit of immunity to Mind Control, though it’s not much when put to use against some of these vampires as many are very, very ancient. I’ll have a difficult time pulling anything off in this house, but hopefully with a bit of luck and some cooperating humans, I can finally rid this world of a good number of vampires. Wish me luck Diary, I’m going to need it.
