Proteus twirled her once more, "I'm glad," and productively made the dance slower and shoulders touch. Melody smiled "I have to ask, out of all the girls here to ask. Why Me, Proteus?" She asked softly as she followed him and danced closer and slower with him. He laughed, "Do you want the truth or the charming gentleman answer? Because if you want the truth, I saw a sweet, caring, loving girl, who needed a date to the Ball - a friend of mine who is beautiful, smart, and clever. I would ask her a million times over." |
